People talking in an office

I’m sure that we’ve all had that feeling… when it’s Monday morning and that ‘performance chat’ you should have had last week is still sitting on your to-do list from Friday.

Maybe if you avoid ‘the chat’ and the problem will go away? They might not be firing on all five cylinders but at least they are at work and if you try and talk to them then they will only get upset or start shouting at you… Even worse they might go off sick and you’re short staffed as it is….

Does this thought process sound familiar?

Well don’t worry, you’re not alone!

If you take a minute, try to think of it in a different way. For example, if you wanted to become an Olympic swimmer would you jump in the pool without your swimming costume and goggles and hope to magically become the race winner? Would you ever really enter that first race without doing any practise?

Firstly we must gain the tools and then secondly we must be able to practise, practise, and practise.

Here at PDW, we give you the tools to handle difficult conversations and the opportunity to practise repeatedly with a real life actor. Whilst you may know this as a ‘role play’, you’ve probably not experienced anything like this before. Our workshops recreate your very own conversation or scenario to give you the power to ‘time out, stop and rewind the tape’ whenever you want.

You will get real time feedback from the team, both good and developmental, and you will also have the opportunity to watch your footage back with a workshop facilitator in private. This will help to show you just how effective you can be when you change your seating position, sit up a bit straighter, talk a bit louder or smile more!

We have taken hundreds of people through this experience over the years. After being given the tools and the opportunity to practise with no fear or repercussions, they leave us with the confidence to go and have that courageous conversation the very next day! Our feedback regularly tells us that our delegates also get a much more positive response, which then means they go on to have more and more courageous conversations… having a significant impact on their working life, and often their home life as well.

If this sounds like something you might benefit from, why don’t you try before you buy? We run regular half day taster sessions focusing on just this topic. The next one is already booking up, but if you are interested in attending or finding out more then press the enrol button below. If nothing else, you will get a free lunch and maybe some more tools to give you the confidence to have that conversation. Go on, talk to us today and let’s get that conversation off your jobs list…what have you got to lose?
